Beach App - download the free Volusia Beaches app (offers detailed information for Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach, Daytona Beach Shores, Ponce Inlet and New Smyrna Beach), provided by Volusia County Beach Safety, for real-time updates on the status of vehicle access ramps, as well as other useful information, like staffed lifeguard towers and beach conditions. Download the Beach Navigator app here!

The Volusia County Beach Navigator app is now available for both Android and iPhone devices. In a sea of hundreds of thousands of smartphone apps, it’s easy to get lost. The Volusia County Beach Safety division has thrown its own app into the mix with a goal of doing just the opposite -- it can help beachgoers find everything from safe seas to local events. This week it became available for iPhone users after its initial startup for Android devices.

For each city, app users can check not just bathroom locations but beach conditions, rules, beach access points, lifeguard towers, concessions, parks, lost and found items, beach passes and where bonfires are allowed. Also available are links to the beach cameras. Beach Guidelines & Safety include not exceeding a maximum of 10 mph, with headlights on and windows down for safety, and of course, no texting.

Questions? While at the beach, feel free to contact friendly Volusia County Beach Safety officials for assistance. Please contact them at beachsafety@volusia.org, call 386-239-7873, or go to their website at Volusia.org

Driving on the beach comes with a small fee of $20 per vehicle, per day which allows for an entire day of beach driving and parking. Today, while professional drivers stick to the track at the ‘World Center of Racing’, Daytona International Speedway, visitors still enjoy driving very slowly (10 mph) along Daytona Beach in designated areas, tide permitting.
